Wastewater Treatment Plant

Picture
The Village of Webster owns and operates a Wastewater Treatment Plant at 613 Webster Road with a rated capacity of 2.5 million gallons a day. The plant is operated by three New York State certified operators. Below is our unit treatment processes:
  1. Mechanical Bar Screen
  2. Pisa Grit Chamber, Grit Concentrator, and Screw Conveyor
  3. Three Primary Settling and Pre-Aeration Tanks
  4. Trickling Filter and Pump Station
  5. Two Secondary Settling Clarifiers
  6. Effluent Box
  7. Primary Digester and Secondary Digester
  8. Centrifuge
Our final treated wastewater travels to a combined outfall at the Town of Webster treatment plant where it is chlorinated and discharged into Lake Ontario.

The Village of Webster Sewer Department also owns and maintains a sanitary sewer collection system. It's comprised of 25 miles of sanitary sewers ranging from 8 to 24 inches in diameter and also includes 450 manholes. Some of our yearly maintenance includes cleaning sewers and grouting joints to prevent infiltration of ground water.

Our Sewer Department also owns and maintains a storm sewer collection system. The system begins at the drain inlets in the roads and continues until they empty into a ditch or stream that leads to Lake Ontario. It includes 200 manholes, over 800 drain inlets, and two dozen inlet grates, outfalls, and drain structures combined. All of these are connected by miles of pipe ranging in size from 4 to 42 inches in diameter.

We also own a sewer lateral camera and the use of this camera is available free of charge to all Village residents. Please call the Sewer Department at (585) 872-3998 to schedule an appointment.

We provide effective, efficient, and reliable services to all Village residents. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns.
