The following regulations apply to pools:
The State Code
The Residential Code of NYS governs how a pool can be installed in order for it to be code compliant. Because each pool is different, a separate code review is required for each.
The Permit Process
Pool permits are required prior to construction. The following items are needed with the application:

Before the pool can be used, inspections are required to verify proper installation:

The Village Code 175-46
The following regulations apply to pools:
- Pools 24” or more require a permit and a fence/ gate unless pool is rigid and at least 48” in height
- Must be placed 10’ from property line
- Pool alarm to detect motion in the pool
- Pools are not permitted in the front yard
- Water from pool cannot be discharged into storm sewer or onto neighbor’s property

- Contractor’s name and insurance info
- Pool type and manufacturer
- Cost of permit
