The Village of Webster Sewer Department also owns and maintains a sanitary sewer collection system. It's comprised of 25 miles of sanitary sewers ranging from 8 to 24 inches in diameter and also includes 450 manholes. Some of our yearly maintenance includes cleaning sewers and grouting joints to prevent infiltration of ground water.
Our Sewer Department also owns and maintains a storm sewer collection system. The system begins at the drain inlets in the roads and continues until they empty into a ditch or stream that leads to Lake Ontario. It includes 200 manholes, over 800 drain inlets, and two dozen inlet grates, outfalls, and drain structures combined. All of these are connected by miles of pipe ranging in size from 4 to 42 inches in diameter.
