The Planning Board process can often be a frustrating and confusing process, yet it doesn’t have to be.

The Village Code 137
The following regulations apply to Planning Board applications:
Informal meeting with a rough sketch: In this beginning stage, the applicant sits down with two members of the board along with Public Works department personnel to discuss the plan.
Preliminary plan: This is the first public hearing in which the Planning Board reviews the plan with possible recommendations to the applicant for any changes.
Formal application: This is the application which includes any changes requested by the Planning Board. This may or may not be the final public hearing depending on the completeness of the application submitted.
Approvals
The Planning Board shall by resolution conditionally approve, with or without modification, disapprove or grant final approval and authorize the signing of the plan within 62 days after the date of the public hearing.
The Permit Process
Once the application has been approved, all the necessary information must be submitted to the Building Department for building permit review.
After review permit shall be issued.

- A survey of property
- Site and building plans
- List of all contractors including insurance information
- Other pertinent information which is project specific
After review permit shall be issued.
