BUILDING INSPECTOR / PUBLIC WORKS ASSISTANT
The Village of Webster seeks a qualified individual for Building Inspector / Public Works Assistant. Full time position (40 hours per week), which includes monthly evening meetings of the Village Board and Zoning Board of Appeals.
This is a Monroe County Civil Service position. Applicant must be a resident of Monroe County for a minimum of four (4) months prior to taking the Civil Service exam. Successful candidate will be provisionally appointed and must be reachable on the next civil service exam list.
Applicant must obtain Class B CDL license within six (6) months of appointment.
Public sector/municipal experience preferred. Position demands a thorough knowledge of NYS Uniform Code and Village of Webster Code. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to interact positively but fairly, firmly and consistently with people displaying a range of attitudes about code enforcement. Must have a strong sense of ethics. Must be detail/accuracy oriented and able to multi-task/prioritize. Familiarity with Microsoft Office is necessary. Salary: competitive and commensurate with experience.
Retirement: New York State Retirement System eligible.
