Construction Project Fact Sheet from the NYS Dept. of Transportation
Remember: the NYS DOT will be milling Main Street on Tuesday this week. The plan is to start at Lapham Park and work towards Barrett. They plan to complete the milling on Tuesday in three phases. First phase: Lapham to Corning. Second phase: Corning to Daniel. Third phase: Daniel to just past Barrett. In the interest of safety, the plan also includes closing the Main Street end of the streets during the work. For example, during the second phase, Corning, Pierce, and Daniel will be closed at Main Street until they move past and start phase three. The plan is not to close the four corners, but they will flag traffic while doing work in that area. EXPECT DELAYS!
For the week of July 27th
On Monday next week, the NYS DOT plans are to pour the new curbing along the east side of South Ave between Scott’s Funeral Home and Clover Drive.
DRIVEWAYS ALONG THE EAST SIDE OF SOUTH AVE where the new curbing is installed will not be accessible until the end of the week.
After the curbing installation, the DOT plans to work on doing restoration to the work area along the east side of South Ave. This work includes sidewalk and driveway apron restorations.
On Tuesday, the DOT plans to mill the surface on West Main Street and a small portion of East Main. The work will begin near Lapham Park and will proceed west to just past Barrett Drive. The plan for traffic control is to use alternating one way traffic. Expect Delays.
THERE will be no parking on this portion of Main Street on Tuesday until the milling operations are complete.
There will be approximately 3 weeks between milling and paving while preparations are completed and adjustments are made to manholes, catch basins, gas and water valves, etc.
